School of Philosophy – week 3

This week I couldn’t make Thursday night, so I went to the Tuesday night class instead. There was a very different group dynamic – the average age of the group seemed a little younger, and the teacher, Jonah, was also a younger hipster, with skinny jeans.

Tonight we discussed the old hole in the sidewalk proverb.

We also talked about the states of consciouness:

  • Fully awake
  • Waking sleep
  • Dream sleep
  • Deep sleep

  • I’m so happy to see other people enjoying the School of Philosophy. I have completed part 1 to 3 but had to leave because of work. I found however that, as a philosophy major, I was bored in a few of the sessions. I figured that this may be because it is aimed at those in need of balance in life rather than a supplement to philosophy studies. The practicality of philosophy taught at the school, however, brought great balance to my life and studies and I recommend the school to anyone and everyone who has an interest, not only in philosophy, but life in general. Good luck with your journey at the school, you will learn many great tools and exercises.
